I've never been the 4.0 student,

not the team captain, or the star of the show.

I've never won first place,

or been picked out among the crowd.

I tried being odd thinking that would make me special

but it turns out I'm not.

It's funny, being told your whole life you're one thing

only to discover that, no, you're really not.

I was told my whole life that I was smart and talented,

it turns out so was everyone else.

It's not so bad once you get used to it.
