Dig Deep

Dig Deep

A Poem by Sara Henry Heistand

Hook your hand across my throat

and beat against my chest

            a solemn beat

            a somber tone

of circles of nations of bounty

Take your crisp bite

and leave your lips with

my skin

my love

my torn dress

Scoop up the layers

Lay down my prayers

Tell me what I know

            i’m a handful

            oh god

            oh god

            oh god.

I really adored the lines;

Scoop up the layers
Lay down my prayers
Tell me what I know
i’m a handful

Amazing words there. I like it the way it is.
It holds up on it's own.
Very well written.
