The King

The King

A Poem by theking
"

wrote this for school

"

Out, beyond the field laid a king

This endless expanse of land his pride

The people blind in the shadow of his wing

These wings of his spread far and wide

And all men bowed asunder

And stared in such great wonder

For he dripped in jewels

Made from other man’s tools

All of whom labored away down under

I like how you carried the metaphor across the lines. I was hoping you would bring it full circle and tie it back to the king. Very compact. Cool.
