Ch. 16 Green Seas

Ch. 16 Green Seas

A Chapter by theladygraceling

Will's room is green.
Green walls.
Green curtains.
Green bed sheets.
Green armchairs.
Green lamps.
And a fuzzy green carpet
in front of the closet.

Sometimes when it's raining
and when it's dark,
it kind of looks like it's molding
and it's gross,
but it calms me to be inside of it,
like lying in a big sea of green.

There's a field behind mine and Will's houses.
There's an old picket fence
that's easy to climb over
if you know where to step.

In the winter
it's an endless blanket of snow.

In the spring
it's spotted with flowers
and colorful like a rainbow.

In the fall
it turns
orange and brown.

But in the summer
it all turns to grass.

The three of us
used to lie down in the grass
and watch the clouds.
And when the wind blew
the grass rolled like waves,
and it was also like lying
in a big
sea
of green.

Will sits down in a big, green armchair
with a rounded back
and Mike Wazowski's face on it.

I flop onto the bed
and curl up in the green sheets.

The bed smells like him,
like soap,
cologne,
and fabric softener.

He turns on the radio
but I can't pay attention
longer than a couple minutes.

I just close my eyes
and lose myself
in all the green.
