To Scratch the Surface of Beauty

To Scratch the Surface of Beauty

A Poem by J. Land

When Night breaks the horizon
And darkness infuses the atmosphere
I am a blind man who waits,
Looks toward Heaven and longs
To feel the scales fall away from my eyes.

The stars sing faintly
Their humming song of vast and empty distance
Flash their secrets across the spectrum;
But to appraise these twinkling specks
Is to scratch the surface of Beauty.

The night Sky keeps no secrets from the soul.
It carries the mind across a universe
Too vast to understand, yet small enough,
Contained within this child's imagination,
Absorbing wonder and awe and the grace
That fills the empty, sublime spaces between these stars.

This was a powerhouse from start to finish my friend, you did a really wonderful job with this. There really is so much about the stars that we couldn't even hope to understand.

Wow this is a superior piece right here and I love it so much. How beautifully placed before us and surely clear enough to pierce every living heart. Wonderfully written and thought out with tremendous style -

For once, I caught one of yours early on my feed. This creates a vivid scene of being able to peer upon the night skies, and take in its breath-taking beauty, to see with a child's wonder, and allow, even for a moment, the ability to dream.
