Rocks and Socks: The Evolution of Flapper Flips

Rocks and Socks: The Evolution of Flapper Flips

My name is Flapper Flips,

A penguin I am,

My friends are all rocks,

My favorite is Sam,

He likes to wear socks,

When we go outside

He jumps around and plays,

I would let him do it all day,

but the other penguins come,

Then I know our fun is done,

They don't approve of my rocks,

or my multicolored socks,

They make me want to cry,

but all I do is sigh

and go inside

just to hide,

When I'm there

I crawl under my bed

and lift the floorboards

because my rocks need fed,

So I feed them while they tell their stories

of their many, many glories,

Fighting the Bluebaroos of Mocks,

Conquering the Malaroos of Bocks,

They're extremely brave,

Yes they are,

I look to them as heroes,

I look to them as stars,

I wish the other penguins would understand,

and greet my rocks with welcoming hands,

But they shun them away,

I wish everyone would stay

together and be friends,

I await the day

Our friendship begins,

But to me, my rocks are penguins,

The penguins are rocks,

Speaking their language

and learning their trade,

Into a rock, I am made!
