Flight Of The Butterfly

Flight Of The Butterfly

A Chapter by therisa
"

A dream

"

Do you not see

My glorious wings

Glistening in the sun

As they unfurl before you

After years of neglect

And abuse.

Fluttering above

The petty hate and fear

To a place

Where love and acceptance

Are the norm.

With each stroke

Gaining more confidence

In myself and others

Of the inner beauty

We all possess.

Glowing radiantly

In my new found joy

Surrounding my body

Like the purest

Of auras.

As I try

To cast aside the darkness

Which I grew up

For most of my life.

How I wish

You could join me

As I flight across

The surrounding landscape

Observing the world

For the first time

Through new eyes.

Even if

Only for a brief time.

Splendid read and write. Once we are free, what others perceive is no longer a concern no matter how many obstacles we have to overcome to become our true self.

Thank you, Brandon. The past week has been a tough one for me, for personal reasons.
