A Grim Reality

A Grim Reality

A Chapter by therisa
"

A reality, too many Transpeople have to face.

"
Condemned
And ridiculed
By society.

For being
True
To ourselves.

As we bottle up
These negative emotions
Within ourselves
Like a volcano
Readying to explode.

Scared
To share
With others
Our experiences.

Until
That tipping point
Is reach.

As we grasp
For whatever
Will end
This sorrow.

Permanently.

While
The tears
Continue to fall
Down our cheeks.

With every new death
Of a conflicted soul
Seeking inner peace
From this
Living HELL.

Wanting to believe
The previous death
Was the last one
As we read out
The names
On November 20th.

Marking
Another year
We're forced to hold
Trans Day of Remembrance.

Author's Note

Too many times, I have found myself, facing this reality, only to back away, from the suicide attempt. I wish I had a solution, to building crisis, but I don't.

sometimes there seems to be no solutions....when being who we are is so jaundiced by society...
but i feel that we need to be who we are with no inhibitions and screw anyone who doesn't like it...

"nobody puts baby in a corner" and "nobody puts anyone in a closet to suffer silently for who they are"

as for the suicide attempt, and backing away....been there, stopped in the middle of it.
still not sure why i got that far, or what brought me back from the edge.
