acceptance

acceptance

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya

we relish to be fond
of what we enjoy.
but reluctant to oppose,
because we loath rejection.
yet we see the light,
but are we willing to fight,
and be
part of an unwanted crowd,
 for years has been rejected,
by the status qua.
phantasm in my thoughts,
refutation I could never see,
only because i was young
 in idle dreams,
to pass the time.
fastening by the clasp
that made me blind.

Honest and strong thoughts shared my friend. I am old now and I re-hash the past. I wish I done more. All of us find the bottom and we get up. With some wisdom, we hope. Thank you Mauricio for sharing your powerful words and thoughts.

To walk away from the crowd is to walk alone it seems.. but to keep our integrity and be true to ourselves sometimes we need to stand for what we believe even if it means losing friends or popularity..with age comes (hopefully) the wisdom to know and the courage to do..I enjoyed this poem very much ..it made me think...thank you..Caroline 🙂

When we are young we often see things through rose coloured glasses. Nothing like time and aging to put things into perspective and for us to challenge and change our views. Meaningful post. Thank you for the read.
