The House of Cards

The House of Cards

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya
"

The hands were dealt with

"

The king has his queen

A realm of princes and princess

As the jacks hold ground

To command a kingdom

From ten to one

in all four corners

The count

Always remains the same

Yet one fine sad day

The joker ceased to laugh

Instead he cried

How can we build a house?

If we won’t follow suit

To our demise

 we'll tumble.

A cleverness of words using the royals and commoners of the pack, and the villain joker proclaims a game to the death - perhaps!? Not at all sure I've interpreted your meaning correctly but, do think your use of the words is individual and the font etc. reminds this friend how well you write!

Very nice use for a desk of cards. You gave life and sad ending for the cards. I enjoyed the poem. Need some artwork and a very interesting tale. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Well done using the cards to lay out your theme. What a great inspiration to write a short poem.

I love this :)
Instead of divide, connect...if we all stand together, we could be so much more :)

Excellent images built to increasing suspense as the cards managed to take personality of their own and thus created a story of intrigue and defeat. Very crafty theme and skillfully woven poetic story!
