2020 the Year Of Living Dangerously

2020 the Year Of Living Dangerously

A Story by Dr. Tim Williams
"

2020 is the year that drastic economic reforms must take place

"
So deceptive, so sudden the world was thrust into a tailspin of regrettable decisions. The sheer scope of this great tragedy has pushed mankind almost to the brink of insanity. Governments the world over are trying desperately to combat this plague on two fronts, economically, and medically. The enormous amount of destruction in lives and livelihoods lost due to this scourge that has paralyzed nations around the globe continues.

Was the United States blindsided by the sudden attack, this Coronavirus? Were we so fixated on the impeachment proceedings of Trump not to realize what was happening half a world away in China? History has a funny way of repeating. Over 40 years ago the US was caught off guard when we were so preoccupied with Watergate we were Blindsided by the Oil crisis that was unfolding not to realize that we would be faced with a real energy crisis.

When the Ebola epidemic hit the United States had a real opportunity to put in place safeguards and the proper protocols to negate the devastating effects when another epidemic hit. Yet, another missed opportunity. It seems that people have to die needlessly. And, it is only after the tragedy that we put in place preventative measures. But, in both instances like Watergate, and the Ebola epidemic all the US did was a band-aid fix that required major surgery.

As businesses fold, lives upended, and senseless deaths we are again faced with the enormous task of restoring some sense of normalcy. Right now there are concrete steps that must be taken to achieve that normalcy along with the required procedures to ward off another epidemic before it turns into a global Pandemic.

We have to realize that in another instance when the world especially the United States was attacked not by a virus but by terrorists put this nation on  a similar lockdown as we are facing today. And, in response subsequently a recession took hold of this nation. The steps taken by our government back in 2001 though not as severe as the ones that should be taken today provided some relief to our economy. They also set up defenses to ward off another terrorist attack on US soil.

It was in 2001 when the World Trade Center came crashing down along with the other terrorist attack in Washington initiated a response that sent the world and the United States into a recession. Businesses across the spectrum hit the panic button and started laying off thousands all across the United States. It took a little over a year to recoup from all the economic fallout of those terrorists attacks. The thousands of lives lost and the billions of dollars wiped out of our economy was a direct result of what happened on 9/11.

Today, with the coronavirus virus that has turned into a pandemic which has swept around the world has hit the global economy harder than 9/11 and the Great Recession of 2008.  We have already seen businesses shutting their doors, Athletic venues being canceled or postponed, college campuses and public schools closing while others are taking extraordinary measures in trying to curb the spread of this very infectious virus.

In rapid response through these actions and our government implementing travel bans have unleashed repercussions that are almost exactly what the businesses community did following 9/11. A global recession is already underway. If we don't implement drastic economic reforms as well as these first responder steps not only will we cause more needless deaths we could very well cause a world wide Depression unlike anything we have seen.

The United States has a unique opportunity to right the injustices of our present economy. This Pandemic has made it very clear that our economic system is in need of urgent reforms. National Economic Reform's Ten Articles of Confederation will repair the collateral damage of our economy that is being decimated by this Pandemic.

When a major global crisis on the magnitude of World War II hits it continues to thrust not only the United States economy into recovery mode but other nations as well. Today, like the period of the early 1930's we are faced with a potential financial disaster. In the 1930's decisive action was taken by FDR. The Trump Administration so far the actions taken won't even come close to repairing the damage done by this pandemic.

What must be done to restore America's vitality, health, fiscal stability, and national security is with National Economic Reform's Ten Articles of Confederation. The urgency to act couldn't be any greater. This Pandemic has thrust the US economy so far backward that concise and decisive action must be taken now. The Trump Administration's actions have only pushed this nation backward and no where near will we come close to a full not only economic recovery but medically as well. Too may lives and livelihoods have been lost as well as billions of incomes wiped out due to the lack of decisive action. This trillion dollar bailout has only deepened the national debt. And really won't in the long term bring this nation back to a full recovery.

In the interim these first responder steps must be taken. The first thing government should do is impose a nation wide shut down on all nonessential business and travel for at least 10 more weeks in order for this coronavirus to subside. Most state have already issued a stay at home order of 30 more days We just hope that will be enough time for this Pandemic to slow down. Secondly, after this first stimulus check arrives to every American and business we have to establish a long term solution and that is to establish a Universal Income of $1000 per month for each American over 21. Other countries should implement a similar proposal. Third, we should make available known remedies and preventable measures to improve ones immune system as soon as  possible including the many herbal remedies that are not tied to the pharmaceutical industries. Like Vitamin C, E, Cod Liver Oil and Garlic to name a few along with Colloidal Silver and the Bupleurum Chinese plant that are known combatants to this Coronavirus and others. We cannot wait for the Pharmaceutical industry, the FDA and the AMA to concoct a costly vaccine.  To wait any longer without this vital information more people will succumb to this virus and we all will continue to suffer not only economically but our safety will still be in jeopardy.

The Fourth step we should undertake is to provide local, regional, state, and national crisis centers where people can receive identical information in each center on the steps to protect themselves from becoming infected not only from this particular virus but when future epidemics occur. And, they will. These clinics will provide free meds, herbal remedies, vitamins and other essentials that protect the health and safety of all.

The fifth step involves setting up transport for those that are still in quarantine, those that are home bound and too sick to travel, and those who wish to remain isolated to protect themselves and avoid the spread of any type of illness. Only in this way can the spread of any illness whether it is this Cononavirus or not will soon decease. And finally have the CDC uniformly coordinate all efforts for every crisis center in reporting any medical threat such as this Coronavirus.

We all should be reminded about what caused this epidemic to reach a pandemic stage and understand why the cause occurred in the first place. One of the most obvious ones is the fact that global warming and the abrupt climate change we are experiencing is one of the largest contributors to why this virus has reach pandemic levels. And until we understand this and take corrective measures now to negate the effects that man continues to do to our environment we will continue to suffer the deadly consequences of our inaction.
