Wouldn't Change Where I'm From

Wouldn't Change Where I'm From

A Poem by tisnessa
"

Wrote this as a writing portfolio for class and ended up really liking it. Yeah, so there ya go.

"
I am from country music, bad puns, and off key karaoke.
From melted Lego and overdue books,
Dirty dishes, and the taste of smoke choked air
I'm from messy beds and a forty-piece broken puzzle.I am from swear jars, whisky bottles, and family jamborees.
From guitars and stampede parades,
Barn cats, and the feel of dirt encrusted nails
I'm from carousels and the sunshine in Aunt Joey's voice.
I am from old motels, cardboard boxes, and forgotten street names.
From suitcases and burnt books,
Trucks stops and the sharp scent of running away
I'm from dying diners and between the lines of never looking back.
I am from plane tickets, car rides, and long highway naps.
From crushed chips and Peter's fries,
Cheeto stains, and the dizzy sound of car engines
I'm from long roads and too far ahead to see.
I am from many places and no places all at once.
From two cities, six schools, and eleven houses,
New worlds, and the fading sight of home.
I'm from dysfunction and abnormality,
and I wouldn't change a piece of where I'm from.

Sumptuous imagery, and delicate descriptions as sharp as the brush tip of a watercolourist.

About
I'm a girl who likes to write and somehow found herself lost on the internet. Most of my writings are 'one shots', like one chapter of a larger story. A little like short stories but not. more..
