ODE TO AN ATHENIAN: Hear Me Speak

A Poem by CHRIS ANDES

ODE TO AN ATHENIAN:

Hear Me Speak

By: christine zapanta andes

If your knowledge can pick

These little secrets I keep

From then long ago

Still, until tomorrow.

I made a vow

To the rainbow you become,

Such sky

Of endless blue and white

sparkling starlight

between my fingers

as I reach to heaven

nay,

you not Apollo;

not the great wave

of the pacific;

or the last cry of the moon

 you,

are my Athenian.

This is really great! Was it inspired by an ancient Greek mythology story? It sure sounded like it! wonderful job!

A interesting poem. I wanted to know the who, why, when, where and how of the poem. Good to leave the reader pondering. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
