I Don't Need You

I Don't Need You

i. don't. need. you.

my heart is beaten and torn
enough as it is.
it has been ripped to shreds,
blown into bits
and shattered into pieces.

i. don't. need. you.

i cannot bear the thought
of those three tiny little words
that mean so much
when i say them out loud.
it is a statement i cannot afford to make.

i. don't. need. you.

maybe if i scream it
so everyone can hear.
maybe if i write it
for all who care to see.
maybe then i'll believe.

i. don't. need. you.

one more time...
i. don't. need. you.

i almost believe it's true.

Straight forward and to the point. I like that. This poem is filled with emotion and power. and then at the end Surrender. No matter how often we say it, how loud we scream it, how much we try to believe it. In the end we have to surrender to the knowledge that we all need love.

I love this poem Thea. It speaks to the soul.
It's going to my fav's
