Hello and Goodbye

Hello and Goodbye

A Poem by Tom Moll

Two sides of me

Have been struggling

These two sides of me

Wont give me any pity

One wants to say hello

One, goodbye

But inside I know

Which one is right

You were once a friend

My best friend, its true

Then came ‘the end’

Now I barely know you

I keep telling myself “its all okay”

Keep telling myself “this is right”

There are so many things I can say

I don’t let my words take flight

I'm not jealous

No, not even sad

There is no us

We lost what we had.

Farewell, old friend

My first love, goodbye

Human hearts can bend

But love can never die.

This goodbye is for you

This poem is for me

This hello is for something new

So that old love can let me be
