Letter To My Bully

Letter To My Bully

A Poem by tmpebbles

I was a victim of school bullying. This poem was started in elementary school and revisited, added to last year. Perhaps it can help someone. I'm here for anyone currently being bullied

Attempting to walk school halls with grace
Defamation of character loomed like a haunting face.
Without merit, you labeled me a freak
Words of defense were laughed upon, and rendered weak.
With naive innocence, I asked what made me your targeted one.
You simply declared, "Seeing you crumble is fun"
Daily, it was your calculated mission to strip me bare.
Emotional and mental game set in motion my despair.
Over time, I willingly surrendered all
Repercussions greater than the fall
Lost sight of the person I yearned to be
Opting to play a role you penned on me
Though drowning among your brutal reigns
I felt too defeated to end the pain
In the aftermath, I traveled spiriling roads.
Soul wandered in search of a peaceful abode.
Then one day, a revelation set in
Though years passed, I still allowed you to win.
In that moment, I made a firm choice
No more would I reside with a silent voice.
Life took a dramatic turn that day
Giving myself permission to lead my way
My journey of self-discovery was long
Yet, I finally reached where I belong
Now, I am the only bearer of power''s crown.
Unwilling to let humanity beat me down
Answers once too unclear to me
Lie no longer foreign to me
Perhaps, it was God''s plan to test my will.
My purpose, you helped me to fulfill
So, thank you bully for all I endured
Today I stand tall, happy, cured.
