Ode to Love

I don't know if you're actually aware what you mean to me
People tell me to give up on you, set you free
But i don't want to let you slip away
Drowning deeper into trouble,no
It was my vow to stand by you,help you
And i stick to that, i won't let you go
Unless you asked me to-
God, i hope that's something you'll never do

I know you're not what some people would call perfect,
You're not flawless, you're a trouble magnet and even sometimes lied to me
But everybody's got their issues, including me
It's easy to walk away and break up
It's way harder to forgive and be understanding
Like i'm trying to
I want to be your light when you're stuck in the dark
Your spark of hope that will never fade
Your guide to help you make it through
Because i care about you,
I love you.

Let me be your shoulder to lean on and trust me,please
Because i believe in you and always will
I know you're full of goodness and light
Deep inside

You can no longer see that,in these tough times
Yet i'm still certain it is there
So,would you take my hand and have faith in me?
Like i have in you,in us

Tears i've shed,a million times because of you
Not knowing how to proceed,anxious you might no longer care or that it might be too late for help-
But Heaven told me to stay strong
And keep doing what i do:
Be there,listen and care.

The memory of our love in my heart
Believing and fighting for a love and a boy
Which other people think to be lost
Hoping to get you back
To who you truly are, on the right track.

I wish i knew what i mean to you
If you believe me to be good enough
To hold the key to your heart and soul,

Because that is for what i breathe
