A place of loveA Poem by NisreenThrough sunshine and whistles Cold mornings sit in warm cars As the holiday cheers another year I felt the love of centuries of dreams Delivering a child of youth to something once old I told you of stories along the stream You took me tonight again to be seen Tax payer entwined in proposals Checks balanced the disposals Policies muddled up in procedures As words fly by the post The games we played Through new years mistletoe I thought the trees of Christmas lights were lost Until i passed a doors sitting by you to cross The stockings filled with laughter Candy cane and my very here after This year was a package of ribbon red Something i once remembered and you simply said For now and tomorrow we would forever write Of life and givings we had hope You wear a scarf of deepest grey I know tonight i hold you to pray A holiday of love Not one of cries The hot cocoa i owe you The smile in my eye
