On the Surface

On the Surface

A Poem by topsyturvy

The vast space of endless nothing
An uncontrolled emptiness.
The surface quite calm,
Aloof even.

Don't let it fool you
For the inside is what you want.
The raging storm of disaster
Fuels the will of turbulence within.

Finding the path of the straight and narrow
Falling, crumbling, crawling forward.
Banging on the gates of Hell;
Release me, he cries.

What happens if I release you from this realm?
He asks.
I shall wreak havoc and rebuild the empire of hatred and lust.
He replies.
Go forth my son, bring Cerberus with you.

Warring paths of conscious and the unconscious mind
Beats heavily on my door.
