Blind Need

Blind Need

A Poem by topsyturvy

I bleed with all purpose and intent

Smashing the pain away from my inner self.

I bleed til I feel the need to stop

For the pain lingers as my will starts to drop.

Caught in a swirl of blistered memories

Trapped within the throes of my mind

This has to stop; don’t I know this by now?

But what kills me more is that you’re so stupid and blind.

Why can’t you see this pain that makes me suffer so?

Is it that hard for you to get out of your shell,

Than heed my warnings and go?

I find it hard to believe that you’d let me ramble on so.

Wasn’t it you who had an eagle’s eye view?

Why can’t you see the scars on my hands?

Is it worth it to be out most nights in a trance?

I thought you loved me enough to understand

The little goings on from the inside of my mind.

The sweet rapture you’ve left me so enamored

Yet not even you can save me from this horror.

"Why can’t you see this pain that makes me suffer so??"
And whom could this line be directed too?

This is the kind of work that haunts you long after you finish it. The imagery and emotional content is superb. You force us to question what love is really. Deep and provocative work. You deserve a round of applause.
