Acceptance

Acceptance

A Poem by topsyturvy

I stared deep into those soulful eyes, and I asked her a simple question.

Will you just sit there and do nothing while I mourn the coming defeat?

She smiled sweetly and said yes.

I’ll wait for you on the other side.

And ever so slowly she fades away into the nothingness that is reality.

Author's Note

topsyturvy
*Sometimes while staring off into space in front of the mirror, a sudden rush of thoughts swarm and occupy your mind. Then a single light flickers, goes dim, then starts to light up all over again, brighter than the rays of the sun. You ponder it, trying to make something of it, then realization hits you like a brick being hammered on the side of your head. Confusion sinks in then comes despair as you slowly begin to accept your fate.

Wow...I love this. It's like the feeling you get while yearning, which becomes daydreaming while wanting a lover so close.
Nice capture of emotion.

Fantasy in flight, a dream forming reality,
One seems to remember the morning awakening
With sorry, that strips away the cover of darkness
From the eyes.

Deeply beautiful thoughts, you flowed from the ink of your quill....short, simple, yet vividly enthralling. Some times, it can be futile...but we live on, until our last breathe.

Acceptance of things in a life can be hard. Some can be harder then some. I like the feel and emotion of the words. I like the ending to a excellent poem.

Very powerful poem. Get a real sense of desperation acquiescing into acceptance. Nicely done! Keep up the good work! This is the first thing I've read by you, and it sure won't be the last!
