Faded Sunset

Faded Sunset

A Poem by topsyturvy

Faded Sunset

The scenic beauty that claims the night through,

When midnight awakes and the fire douses the flames.

A phoenix is born from beyond the grave of light,

It lingers above the man of my dreams.

A single tear drops from his face

As the phoenix calls out to him

A single lone tune.

Amidst the echoes of yearning,

He glimpses her lucid frame.

She reminds him of his little flame.

Forever seeking the depths within,

The man she once knew,

Turns his back once again.

A deep sadness in the poem. I like the description. Allow the reader to fall into the story.
"A phoenix is born from beyond the grave of light,
It lingers above the man of my dreams."
I like the strong statements in the poem. A strong ending to a outstanding poem.
