Ancients

Ancients

A Poem by transentience

Embers scale encrypted walls
Rosewood smoke
Fills the scent
In ancient skulls, dimly lit
The monoliths of aromatic
Decadence

The sense of alchemists
Transmutations by the hand
Anubis weighs your heart of sand
Against the madness

Royal feathered apparitions
Sacrilegion
Soul invictus

Soul invictus as opposed to Sol Invictus. Brilliant! I love poems that show a knowledge and layers or pathways into them. This got to me right in my loves and interests. I live in an area of great prehistoric meaning in the Highlands of Scotland and so this poem resonated. Perhaps not with the Classical and Eygyptian refenferences but certainly with the mention of monoliths etc. I have an ancient standing stone in the field by the front of my house.
