illusions

illusions

A Poem by William Maisonave
"

illusion

"

When I want to see your smile,

or admire the curve of your hips...

I look at a photograph.

Overwhelmed by lonliness.

When I want to tell you I love you,

express how much I care...

I write between these lines.

Silent words you really can't hear.

When I want to explore your body,

hear your passionate cries...

I imagine we're together,

Forever unsatisfied.

What I need,what I want,

I can't have...

So I imagine,Write letters,

stare at photographs.

Sad if the only way you can communicate with someone is through an old photograph or letter. Nothing like the presence of someone you love and being able to trace their silhouette with your actual fingertips.

Oh, this is a sad and haunting piece about unrequited love my friend. The pain here is accentuated by nostalgia and is intense and damn personal. A great write, this...

I love this. And it's definitely something I can relate to, as most people probably can. Great poem. :)
