Prison of my Mind

Prison of my Mind

Four walls

Hold me inside.

One wall is truth,

One wall is lies.

The wall of truth

makes my mind ache.

The ache of knowing only a trace.

A trace of what is to be.

How to do?

What I'll see.

The truth behind the lies.

A sort of "I don't Know Stew."

The lies of comfort,

Deceit divine.

It holds me,

It binds me,

It keeps me alive.

The lies hold up the wall of truth.

Connected they are with mortar and ash.

The other two walls

are time and space.

Time is irrelevant,

until it smacks you in the face.

Wakes you from a dream,

drags you dowwn to earth.

Makes you question

what you are truly worth?

Space is original,

it can give comfort and pain,

it can produce

a sense of longing,

of Love,

Of Strain,

Space is infinite.

It  can be close and long.

You must not fight it,

you must move on.

Time, Space, Lies, Truth!

A prison cell.

Past on from my youth!

Plain, simple, contrastingly wise and thought provoking! These are the four walls that make up a sane human mind, i think. Nicely written.
