That Dreadful Day

That Dreadful Day

A Poem by turtlegirlluver
"

A poem about when I will have to say goodbye

"

Each time I think of that dreadful day

my heart begins to break

The day where

the music will play

and you will walk

down the hallway

and out of my life

The day with smiles

as the robes and caps

are worn

You will come to hug me

but the tears

will already be

soaking my face

My heart will shatter

never to be

the same again

I will lose it

and weep

into your arms

You will try

to comfort me

but all will be

in vain

I will be crying,

crying at the thought

of losing you

You will let go of me,

turn away and walk

down the hall

I will watch

you disappear

The tears will still

be flowing

As I wonder

if you ever knew

how very special

you have been

to me

This is about how my mind keeps imagining what will happen on this day. A day where I'll have to say goodbye, and just hope that they know how I really feel

I know exactly, word for word, how this is - this is just what happened when by best friend left for college. But I suppose it's a universal situation. The confined structure portrays the lonely feeling very well, and the last stanza just really gets me. Heh. Great job (and thanks for your review, too)!
