If Only�

When I first wrote this it was about one friend, but now it's kinda turned into two friends. It's about the pain I feel seeing them in pain.

 It pains me to see you standing there

tired and hurt

caught up in your own problems

 

If only I could make things better

If only I could make you happy

 

I've finally solved my own problems

but now I see you in the same place I used to be

 

If only you could face your fears

and say the things I did

I've been happy and free

If only you could feel the same

 

I wish the best for  you

and will respect your decision;

yet-

I urge you to tell him how you feel

 

You helped me in my times of need

but now the roles are reversed

 

If only you could follow the same direction I went on

even if it ends the same,

at least you can move on

 

To live you must take risks

so take that risk-

maybe you'll be happy you did

 

If only you could take that step into the abyss

because maybe you'll find a path

that you could never see before

Yes, the want to help another is large when your care for them is large as well. You really expressed the passion of a friend, and pain of a friendship through this one. Nicely done! Liked it bunches...
