Green eyed god

A glance in your direction is just overwhelming.

Your embodiment as a mere mortal is just so tantalizing.

My eye's hungrily scour every inch of you. How mouthwatering you are. The forbidden fruit of this world. But it is your eyes.

Those emeralds on fire that burn into my very soul. Oh green eyed god unify my being with yours.

I am insignificant in your presence. But I implore you to ponder it.

I need nothing on this earth nor heaven for a glimpse into your eyes. It's as if I can see the gates of Eden opening for me, Hear the trumpeting of angels horns, taste paradise.

If I cannot have you dear creature of myth. 

At the very least bestow upon me death. In the loveliest manner.

To burn in your emeralds till I am no more.

Oh how freaky...I wrote "like emeralds on fire" to describe green eyes in my book :-D Great minds, and all that...

Meanwhile, nice poem...I am unfamiliar with your work, so please don't take offense when I say the form was a bit chaotic for me. Sentences wandering off all over the place...it's a bit distracting. But, meh, could just be me.
