Her Siren Call

Her Siren Call

A Poem by James K. Blaylock

Her Siren Call

led through the briny blue,

by the likes of she, with her

sirens song, and body beautiful;

her call is to any fool,

who wishes longingly for adventures...

although, she offers nothing

really, but icy graves,

and she gives them out abundantly

I am not keen on the inversions in the opening stanza but the following stanzas are wonderful and I love the conclusion.

led through the briny blue,
by her sirens song,
and beautiful body.

Her call is to any fool,
who wishes for adventures,

although, she offers nothing
really, but icy graves,
and she gives them out abundantly

i really liked this piece, it speaks the imagery with heartfelt effect,
its a visional deptiction reflecting the legend of the siren call, painted
with clarity, really captures the full, all around spectrum, detailed
to emotion, your words really captures the magic here, mike

What a fantastic poem! I really love this and am into the whole 'siren' legend thing. A wonderful double meaning underlying as well. Great write! I'm saving this to my favorite's library.

I just keep thinking of the line in "Oh, Brother Where Art Thou" 'She turned him into a horny toad.' I'm a history geek, had to to there.

It's a wonderful, modern feeling mythical tale. That didn't come out right. But you've taken the Epic work and squished it down like a hamburger patty or a snowball. And didn't lose anything of the tale in the process. Great work.

A great and wonderful masterpiece. It perfectly catches the essence of femme fatale, I think. :) Really nice, really nice. Feels theropeutic reading a JKB after all we've all been through. lol.

A succinct and moving tale. Beware the sirens for sure - they capture with their song of beauty and dash you about the rocks. Well written. Thank you.
