Touch Too Much

Touch Too Much

A Poem by James K. Blaylock

Touch Too Much

touching is just;

but somtimes it leads

to far too much...

then we must marry

with shotgun barrels handy

Concise brevity...
I see you doing a daily quote in a daily newspaper-
your pieces are more like 'thought for the day'!
witty and to the point,
there's more poetry in the title! but then there's that overall grasp of what eludes the rest of us...
it's just so talented!
something about your stuff makes me want to come back for more!
it's so simple it's infuriating almost..!

I wonder if they have those shot-gun weddings anymore. They once were pretty popular, but now they are probably a memory from the past.

Loved this poem as it brought back memory's of a couple of my friends. Now it brings laughter, then it was something horrible.

lol, yes sir, this piece here immediately draws a response to laugh... shotgun wedding, written in essence, this is picturesque, i absolutely enjoyed the whimpsical, romantical nature to the subtle yet passionate meaning written with a freeing sense of spontaneity, the imagery is lighthearted, as well as shows a life changing event in comical manner, very nice job james, as what poetry should be.

What a quick and accurate description of many fleeting affairs that have taken too serious a turn due to that moment of passion that makes one weak. Very clever and simply put...I sure like your style. ~Lorna Lee

Clever, fun and sometimes - true -

Gave me a giggle this morning to start my day -

I love the "subtle" meaning behind the title 'Touch too much'

Thanks for the chuckle
