Life's Measure, Love

Life's Measure, Love

A Chapter by Ufi Auttorri ~ UfoAuthor

Haste, waste and the supple form...

Slowly!  Read me, slowly!  Let the
Words form the sound in your mind.
Do not hasten through them as a
Dog gulping down its food.
Yes, you are a quick study but
I am old
And have learned the value of
Savoring the moment.  A lesson
Wasted on many of not nearly
My years.

Take a deep breath and glance
Away from these words.
Return and visit them once again,
Stroked like the cat in your lap
Until they purr with contentment.
If you are too warm, enjoy the coolness
Of the night and the full moon rising
Behind the shadow of the redwoods
on the dry hillside.

Lift your hands toward the stars and feel
The mists of dark skies pass
Through your fingers and over your hands.
Reach out with finger and thumb
As if to grasp the planets;
The space within, a measure of your life.
