The Bitter Path

The Bitter Path

A Poem by Victoria Nakis

There’s a path that has been taken,

And followed for quite some times now,

It’s not a route that one should wander on,

For you see, it’s a dark one of false reality;

Ensnaring the mind into an unbreakable denial.

Not realizing that the road really hasn’t been touched,

You continue on thinking that someone’s stumbled upon it before.

But in actuality, they haven’t ever even seen it.

The deeper and deeper you go, the more you’re lost.

Until finally it hits and the façade shatters.

Clarity comes through to reveal the knotted, decrepit path.

Those deep emotions you were repressing burst free,

You’ve been going the wrong way for so long,

Now the realization hits that you’re too lost;

No way to ever be found.

This sounds like a dream......a bad one. But its well written!

I think the font definitely needs to be larger......some of your readers need glasses like me!

About
My name is Victoria. I've lost touch with writing lately, but it's always been a passion. It's my favorite outlet when the feelings I have can't be contained. I'm not particularly good at poetry.. more..
