No Happy Ending

I wrote this after having a dream about someone I just met that day

 No Happy Ending

I would've given you my heart

and you would've done the same

That's how our story 

should have ended

Happily Ever After

But this is reality there

are no happy endings

or fairy tale love stories

So here's how it would end

this story of ours

we went different paths

And lived on just fine 

without each other
