Immortal Beings

Immortal Beings

A Poem by VALORMORE DE PLUME
"

Some are worse than monsters.

"

Immortal Beings

Endlessness, is unfamiliar to we mortals.

All we know, is in a state of constant change.

How annoying, this human condition.

~*~

They had this world first, our ball of mud.

Global, consolidated, one minded, that is them.

Cast Down, they made the most of it, you might say.

~*~

They built to last, with stone, on every stretch of land.

Stone wears away very slowly, yet stone too is mortal, like us.

They built atop their own ruins, for time has no meaning to them.

~*~

When we came along, a different clock started ticking.

I consider a wee Mayfly’s single-day lifespan.

We don’t last much longer than this bug

compared to the fallen ones.

~*~

Still, in truth, we are made

in a most superior way,

by our loving Creator.

~*~

Though we fell.

With their help.

Just like them.

~*~

Like a butterfly

we will change, when

we shed this flesh.

~*~

There is a choice

to be made with that

precious gift of free will.

~*~

I hope you want to live

with the one who created you

for an eternal loving relationship.

~*~

The alternative is to be absorbed by the pleasure-seeking

hordes of demons, along with their mutated offspring,

as their reality is forever accursed in agony.

~*~

The gift of free choice ends the moment

you pass from flesh to spirit.

Choose God every day.

~*~

You never

know which

will be your last.

~*~

If you’re not sure how to talk to God,

ask Him to teach you.

He will.

Wow its impressive and awesome how you drew the analogy btw a mayfly's short lifespan and the metamorphosis to two features of our own life and life hereafter. I like and heartily agree with the reasoning in faith of your poem , to have faith in the Creator yes. Kudos.
