Perfect Summer Day "With" You

Sun resting high in the 

Perfect baby blue sky,

Breezes cooling the air

Just enough to create

The perfect climate

As the sun radiates it's 

Warm waves of heat

Towards the Earth,

I tend to some yard work

Potting plants to the 

Serene scene of nature,

Lobelia, alyssum, 

Lavender, begonias,

Roses, bluebells, 

Camellia, delphinium,

All sorts of berries as well,

Strawberry, raspberry, 

Blueberry, boysenberry,

Warm soil between my 

Fingers held in my palms,

As the the birds sing 

Their sweet songs.

How I wish we could 

Share this perfect

Summer day together...

But in a way, 

I feel you here,

The sky is the same 

Perfect blue of your eyes,

The sun's pulsing warmth 

Ideal when you hold me close,

The beautiful colors of 

Your personality scattered

Among the faces of the flowers,

Found within the berries lays

The sweetness of the 

Kisses we share,

The soil in my hands I 

Imagine as my hand in yours,

The song of the birds lulls 

Me like your melodic voice.

During this peaceful summer day,

I can only wish we could share,

But I cannot deny the fact,

You are certainly here.

I thought about writing this as I was gardening, and it reflects my emotions exactly. I just had to write it :)
