Tarzan and Jane

Tarzan and Jane

A Poem by Vidya Bacchus
"

"me Tarzan ,you Jane "

"
                               Tarzan and Jane
You seem to think ,
That I am your possession,
Not a person ,a belonging,
To lay claim to ,
While you pound your chest,
And mark your territory.

Like a cave man ,
"Me Tarzan ,you Jane "
Come ride on my vine ,
'Peel my banana,
and stick it in your mouth."
I have had it with bananas.

Stomping around proclaiming your worth,
I'm standing here wondering,
Really? what is your worth?
Mister "I fought a Bengal tiger",
When in fact you were hiding
In the bushes whispering "is it gone ?"

Far be it for me,to rain on your parade,
So here I am nodding like an idiot,
While you look at me,
To confirm your manliness,
And here I am rolling my eyes
And doing the same thing again tomorrow .
                                                                                                                             By Vidya

Hahaha you funny girl :)
Ha 'peel my banana!' ;-) I was a goner right there...this is so fun with a twist of a lesson in it. Love it when your roll your eyes! I love this....ahh the art of manliness is always captured in a Tarzan scream ~ AwwwwahaWWWahhhhawwwww! Love the disclaimer too, all you needed was the cheeky monkey swinging from a vine. ;-)

Hahaha yeah that might work :)
I love it!
Men need to hear this.
Our society is full of strong women making ends meet and getting their needs met as they can while trying to keep a man-child happy as well...
When we men as a group commit to being a true "king" of this jungle we call life and make sure others are cared for before they feast at the table of their own pleasures...?
There are good men out there and there are sorry excused for women as well. Yet there seems to be at trend in the wrong direction in general.
I have to tell myself this very thought each day... "Man up" in every sense of the word.
Right on!

So sad we must disclaim things. Anyway, that said, I will try not to point out that the space comes after the comma, and just leave it alone. I would say, however, there should probably not be a comma after "far be it for me" -- don't load the gun, Vidya, I will slink away.:)

I love disclaimer in the author's note. Lol

But seriously, shows a particular feminine point of view that masculine perceptions will recognize unless the insecurity level is similar to the narrator's subject. Otherwise, pride will probably inflate the reader's testosterone and prevent the masculine reader from an introspection that could lead to a more fulfilling relationship with a lover whose feelings are clearly neglected.

No matter our level our enlighten, there is always room for progress :)

Interesting thought. I think some guys feel just like this and are in fact just like this. A man is not just some guy beating his chest, a true man will show who he really is, and if that means that "his woman" needs to protect him then at least he is being honest and not a coward. Great poem more guys should read this one Vidya.

You're welcome! :D
Well, the way I see it is that Tarzan should be a hero, a conqueror of the jungle along with his helper and beloved Jane. Not a user and abuser. He should be a provider as well as a protector. If he relinquishes his roles then I don't blame you a bit...A wonderful write with a good message...:)..........
