Ogallala Outlaw

Ogallala Outlaw

A Poem by Vlazuvius
"

My friend Chad always writes poems with western themes and shows me western movies. After so much exposure, it was bound to affect me. It did, twice. This is the first example.

"

Ogallala outlaw/stares at cars outside/once he robbed trains/but now he's the victim/those he once robbed/stole the entire west/the nurse brings him supper/he longs for a pot of beans/a campfire/an honorable death/if only his horse was alive/if only he had his gun/he'd ride south from the old folks home/go down into mexico/but he's fired his last bullet/if only he'd hanged/or died in a shoot out/rather than dying/surrounded by doctors/his personal legend/sabotaged by bedpans/and a sunset/that seems so far away

Oh that's terrible sad! May he kill one of the hospital people with his bedpan and jump out the window like Blue Duck taking a doctor with him in vengeance for the state he finds his world to be in!

Funny, I go to your page and what are the first two that I pull up that I want to read? Outlaws and the west.
I should not be so predictable, have you got a haiku or a sonnet or something about football?
