The Butterfly Effect

The Butterfly Effect

A Poem by Weston R.
"

My April 6th poem for NaPoWriMo 2012

"

Butterflies: the dapper bats,
Clad in costly dyes,
Lord over the bumblebees
Maggots, gnats and flies.

Butterflies: the Rorschach tests
That crawl upon their wings
Seem to psychoanalyze
All of nature’s things.

Butterflies: the gossipers,
Dashing here and there,
Speak of every happenstance
And sing of all affairs.

Butterflies: the quiet monks,
Praying on the breeze,
Think about the flowers
And contemplate the trees.

Butterflies: the wing’d insects;
Diurnally they flee;
Thorax, head & abdomen
With 2 front antennae.

Butterflies the pretty things
Which we do admire
In books, in art, in poetry
And on telephone wires.
