Awakening.

Which is better, dream or reality?

I look around the things I have and I call

this a perfect world. This place is immensely

filled with surreal beauty. There exists no wall,

happiness is always within my reach truly.

 

I could feel love in the air all the time.

I'm forever protected by the web of love spun

by the people I love. I realize how lucky I am

to live in this world where I am the favored son.

 

Suddenly a blinding light hits my face, the world

seemed to be a blur. The evanescence led to darkness.

The enchanted happiness faded away when reality unfurled.

Everything just drifted away, I could only feel numbness.

 

I opened my eyes and I found myself lost in the reality.

The dream seemed so real. Is this called a rude awakening?

I couldn't feel love in the air; it has lost its contained vitality.

Senses tired of searching for happiness, is now weakening.

 

I was building a perfect world of my own design

and suddenly everything began to fall apart.

Now I'm brought back to a world of different reign.

In this reign, I cannot figure out my part.

 

I’m back to this world of a different ruler with a complex design.

The ruler; a true lover of enigma, complexities, and ciphers.

Forever his identity remains concealed and forever his divine

Intervention sought hoping one day all the puzzle, he deciphers.

 

My path in this world has gone awry. My legs tremble

as it is tired of all the travel. Eagerly awaiting for the sandman

to take me to my realm forever, I reminisce  the memorable

times I had here. I hear him coming, here begins my new lifespan.

Author's Note

Inspired by the movie inception, I wrote this piece. I consider this as one of the best poem I have ever written. I am positive that you'll enjoy reading this.

wow i could relate to this very well! well of course dreams are better than reality - i often take refuge in my dreams when i want to escape the suffocating reality, and then i am in a world transformed :) you can be and can have whatever you want, "there exists no walls".
but it doesnt last forever - you'll realize sooner or later that you have to face reality, and thats a 'rude awakening'

You effortlessly brought out the fact that a perfect world is an illusion and can not be sustained for long. Complexities, insecurities and disillusionments are inevitable and have to be faced. And in this we can seek His divine intervention from time to time.
