We The Fyshermen

We The Fyshermen

A Poem by Walczak
"

A poem about friendship.

"
We took the rope and tied it in a noose
all the while make sure not to leave it at all loose.
We had already talked for hours with soon coming end
acceptance, not denial, being the mark of one's true friend.
At first I had pleased to make him stay with me
"but what's the point in drinking", he had argued, "when I can hardly taste the tea".
Eventually when accepted had I his view
he told me to "get going, as most friends are wont to do"
but I promised till the end I would still be at his side
like he for me in all those times I'd cried.
For he had always wiped away my fog,
and now it was time for a boy just turned man, to shoot his own dog.

This is a really sad and touching poem! I loved your rhyming scheme and everything flowed really well. There was no spelling mistakes but I did notice you might want to change the 'i' in this line "but I promised till the end i would still be at his side" to one of a capital. I especially liked your very last line, I thought it was really cleverly written.
