My Burden

My Burden

A Poem by A Wanderer of Dreams

This aching within

The unbearable burning

Consumes one wholly

Leaving one weak and raving

Of how reality favors

Randomly and unfairly

Raving of how one was

Of value and sureness

Leaving one whispering

“Let me fall away

Break this chain

Strip the fear

Melt the pain

Close the eyes

Oh so weary

Until the light

Has ceased searing”

I like the strip of neurosis that speaks through your writing, it's so human and caring and well-suffered.

The burden of the sensitive who is often an artist. Well said. Thank you.

Powerfully spoken... The ache that drives us on... the overwhelming thoughts and dreams... You write so vividly... Amazing piece!
