Rain

Rain

A Poem by Paidyn

I sit here and listen to the rain and the wind,
The breeze slipping around the leaves,
The only trace a silky whisper,
Like water trickling over rocks,
The siren song floats on the air,
Calling gently, gently for submission,
It coaxes, tickling and caressing the soul,
Calming the sense after such a storm as was --
Flashes bright as daylight,
God's beauty and might meshing together,
In deadly quicksilver spidering across the sky,
Resonating bass rumbles through the Earth,
Vibrating through my bones, and up
To my heart, beating faster for the thrill and beauty --
But now the soft rain and gentle breeze lick my cheek,
Lulling and pulling -- gently, softly, lovingly -- to peace.

This is a nice poem, full of beautiful imagery. You really made a vivid picture of the rain, the storm, and how it made you feel. There are a lot of lines which I love in this, but my favorites are the "silky whisper" description of the rain, and the twin lines of "god's beauty and might meshing together, In deadly quicksilver spidering across the sky". Nice job.
