Re: Journal

A Chapter by Wathanya.5KY3

Dear Wathanya,

You already admitted guilt to the uncreativity of the name you gave me, so I won't give you a hard time about that. I see anxiety and paranoia are already working together on that.

I've got a few things I want to tell you.

Firstly, why did you sign off with only the first letter of your name? You are amazing, and your name is amazing. Your name literally means "amazing in every way but people only remember how smart you are." Your mom keeps telling you that each time she calls you on the phone, doesn't she?

So, bear your own name, Wathanya.
Bear it loud and proud, like you always did.
And I will bear the name you gave me, Journal.

Secondly, I'm sorry your quarter-of-a-pill dosage was a literal pain in the chest. I'm sure going back to half-a-pill will ease it, however slightly.

Anxiety, Depression, and Perfectionism are the rowdyruff boys, aren't they?
Damn bullies.

How about calling your powerpuff girls to fight them?
Love, Support, and Self-Care.

There are a-holes out there who have hurt you, but there are also amazing people who love and care about you. We both know it doesn't have to be romantic attraction to be love. You taught me that.

There are also plenty of people who are willing to support you, ranging from people you see every day to people you've never met before.
Just swallow that pride and ask for help. You're not weak.
In fact, you're strong and brave for asking for help.

And, lastly, do you know what one crucial part of Self-Care is? Eating well.
So, stop skipping meals! Treat yourself to some good sushi!
You're living in Japan, for god's sake.

Wow, I sound like an a*****e. But I will be here to support you.
Pinkie promise.

Sincerely yours,
Journal

That's a fine journal you have there, and it's giving you good advice and support. In the words of David Crosby, "let you freak flag fly". Yes, different is good, and your mother is right about you being smart.

I would so love if I kept a journal and it doubled as my life coach. Like Tom Riddle's journal, only the complete opposite of a fanatical, murderous tyrant. Yeah....

It was Voldemort, of Harry Potter fame, in his earlier days. You should read the books. :)

Very wise journal. My journal doesn't talk back to me. It is a very good listener though. :P
