The Meaning of Thanksgiving

A short story about what I feel is the meaning of Thanksgiving.

The Meaning of Thanksgiving

      Webster defines  “Thanksgiving” as the act of giving thanks or grateful acknowledgment of benefits or favors, especially to God.

      I think this is the best definition of this special holiday because we all have a lot to give thanks for.

      I have one explanation as to why the previous statement is true: Love.

      Love is everywhere. Whether it be between a man and a woman, or between a mother and a daughter, it is special.

      For someone who has not been in a relationship with another partner, it may seem that you will never find that “special someone”. Also, you may think that no one will ever love you. Well, there is a saying,” For every man, there is a woman.”

      Even if you don’t have that one person in your life, you have many others! Friends, family, neighbors; people who love you for who you are and would love you no matter what. Those people are the ones you must focus on when giving thanks.

I see nothing wrong with the way you expressed your own definition of giving thanks because I always feel family comes first for they are the ones that truly love us for whom we really are. This is a deeply enjoyable piece, keep em' coming
