A Delicate Flower

A Delicate Flower

A Poem by Chris Smith Welshpoetcs

A delicate flower in bloom
Beautiful in these eyes
But I hurt her, as I always do
I broke that fragile heart
When I turned myself away

She would have waited for ever
Until those treasured moments
Moments we shared so intimately
Then I went back across the water
To gather the rest of my life

Meaning to return, but fear comes
If only I had said I had gone
Comforted her, but stupid pride
Took me away from the one I need
Why must we men be of fickle head

Time can heal, she wants me again
To change, to let my insecurities free
For we tremble with love's touch
Afraid it will come crashing down
That our past will haunt us, as before

With trust, I know she guides me
An Angel that I feel I don't deserve
Yet she still continues to believe
That this man can be shown his soul
This man has found his salvation

Honest, inspirational and loving.
Great job, Chris--from one "fickle head" to another.

Beautiful! The internal struggle well demonstrated here. Listen to her belief in you and your heart. :)
