Something In Desire

Something In Desire

A Poem by Wesley Dingler

  I.

There is something in desire the

  Wisest cannot fully understand.

Should I claim I understand entirely,

I would be lying where I stand.

  II.

There is something in love the

  Most astute continually miss--

An errant force hovering above me--

Taking me higher with every kiss.

  III.

There is something in two bodies the

  Most chastened cannot resist.

If I said I am immune to such oddities,

Then I lied--I must now admit.

I think that most of us understand the word "desire",but perhaps in different ways, as you examine the word in this piece. You speak of the the desire of love, something we reach for but some never experience in the way they wish. You speak of two bodies in a passionate tryst; lets not kid ourselves; I think we all need this kind of desire or we would be fossils. Nice write Wesley.
Best, B.
