Unsinkable Ships

Unsinkable Ships

A Poem by rayven

I wish everyone would look deeper,
Try to reveal who lies within.
The one who's locked; me as a keeper.
The girl who's reflection I defend.

A girl with a heart more fragile,
Than your average piece of glass.
Someone who's smile comes quickly,
And diasppears just as fast.

Trying hard to uncover her face,
Lift off the personality disguise.
Clean out the wounds, heal infections,
From the diseased creatures, "Lies."

I am the girl on the outside,
Smiling although internally damaged.
Every truth I've been forced to hide,
Behind my created "positive" image.

An image unbreakable, unshakeable.
Strong and like a chain's links.
But like unsinkable ships,
Theres the ability to crash and sink.

The poem is very good. We all hide behind fake smiles and try to show the world we are Ok. Few people are allowed into the wall of protection. I believe few people we can trust. Last line is very true. We can sink and fall very quickly. Poem is outstanding. I love your use of language and strong words.
