More Patching, I say!

More Patching, I say!

A Poem by Craig Peters
"

I fun little poem explaining why patching an MMO, in this case The Secret World, is a good thing.

"
"Play with me, Leck.
Play with me, please.

We can kill all the Draug.
We can eat all the bees."

"Oh, no. I can't play.
I can't join you in town.

Not now, can't you see?
The server is down."

"The server is down?
But I want to play!

I'm tired and stressed,
I've been working all day!"

"But they need to fix bugs,
it's important they do."

"More important them me?"
"More important than you."

"But why do it now?
This is my only time.

I've been working all day,
This is almost a crime!"

"It's not like they know you
This wasn't a plan.

They didn't see you and say
'Target that man!'"

They've chosen a time,
It's the same every week,

So do something else,
Read a book, or learn Greek."

"But there are Feigr Impaylers
And Broodwitches to slay.

I need to help Sherrif Bannerman
And Madame Roget.

But I see your point,
I can play another day.

Patching is important,
So more Patching, I say!"

"I'm glad you agree,
Patching is right.

Now find something else
to do with your night."

I'm highly amused by this poem. Such a great way to look at things. The best part is that it's a narrative style of poem, which is one of my favorites.

I often find myself on patch day wondering what I'm supposed to do with my time. Then I turned to writing and wondered how I ever had time to do anything else. It's been crazy.

Anyway, well written poem. Thank you for sharing it with us!
