He Loves Me

He Loves Me

When I’m full of despair
When I just don’t care
When I cry alone
When I say "don't come home"

When I’m pissed as hell
When I refuse to tell
When I'm slamming doors
When I can’t take anymore

All the things that I’ve done
Everything I won’t become
Every day I fall apart
Every time I break his heart

He will always be here
every day,
for me
throughout the night
He will never abandon me

For me, he will stay and fight
For me, he will make it right
For me, he will give his life
Because, he loves me.

.....I was honestly waiting for some "fiddler on the roof" reference ("For 25 years I've lived with him, Fought with him, starved with him, For 25 years my bed is his - If that's not love what is?")...lol. Jokes aside, I quite enjoyed this poem. It reads well, and it has a great narrative and sentiment. Well done!

Despite everything, he loves you. After 25 years that is a wonderful thing to celebrate. I particularly liked the way you concluded this poem. Nicely composed.
