Unicorns are cool

Unicorns are cool

A Poem by Heather

I hate the pain.

It’s stench is suffocating.

But it’s worth the strain

Or so they said in the beginning.

Blurred vision they say.

No matter how hard I try, I can’t remove the fog blocking me

Life is forced upon us, everything within it being the price we pay.

Sometimes it takes an outsiders perspective to allow us to truly see.

Damaged goods

Endless fear

The worth of the wicked.

Broken hearts leave behind the souls of who we could have been.

No use in questioning it, life is what we’ve already seen.

Tomorrow I’ll be louder,

I’ll be deafening.

Screams for a worthy cause

An empty case,

Where everything that makes me

Used to reside.

We can conceive the idea of unicorns,

Yet never imagine a new colour

What a strange world we live in.
